Floor Manager Job Description

The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts is seeking a part-time Floor Manager to oversee volunteer ushers and to support House Managers in front of house theatre operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise volunteer ushers in an assigned floor or area of the theatre
  • Assist in directing lobby traffic and seating patrons
  • Address patron and usher issues, and escalate to supervisors as appropriate
  • Ensure the safety of patrons and assist special needs patrons
  • Support the House Manager in all other activities to provide a positive customer experience and ensure patron safety

SALARY AND HOURS

  • Part-time Hours -- vary based on Sandler Center event schedule
  • Evenings and weekends required
  • Wage: $8-$10, commensurate upon experience

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated knowledge of front of house theatre or venue operations
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service and communication skills
  • Experience in volunteer or usher management a plus
  • Willingness to work flexible and varied hours
  • Ability to work well under pressure
