Wes Charlton
Four full-length albums in, singer-songwriter Wes Charlton has made a career-defining statement. Spurred on by the traction of his critically acclaimed album, Breaking Light, and its surprise hit single, Neighborhoods, Wes dove deeper into his personal struggles and creative challenges, all while setting out on a journey of artistic autonomy through writing, arranging, performing, recording, and producing all aspects of this new music.
Thankfully, the war is over on many levels for Wes. And now, this rural Virginia-based artist emerges with his courageously confessional album, Father Please Put The War Away, out January 2024 on Right Recordings.
Wes has previously released three critically acclaimed albums—NPR named his two most recent, Morning Stars and Breaking Light, as “Album of the Week.” He made his television debut on NBC Nashville, and his songs have been featured on film and TV. He has performed at prestigious Nashville venues including the Basement, 3rd & Lindsley, The Bluebird Café, and 12th & Porter, prestigious New York venues such as The Bitter End, Kenny's Castaways, and Rockwood Music Hall, and many other prestigious venues throughout the US. Arc Music Group also selected Wes to complete a publisher-sanctioned recording project for John Lee Hooker and Sonny Boy Williamson.
