Conceptualized by a group of mostly local band directors in February of 2017, BrassWind was brought to life nearly one year later in January of 2018 in Williamsburg, Virginia. 

A band the likes of which Hampton Roads hasn't seen in a very long time... a band revolving around real horns and horn band music. Since 2018, the roster has evolved, and the scope of genres & styles has grown, making BrassWind the most eclectic party band around. 

BrassWind is comprised completely of retired & active-duty military, in addition to some of the original charter-member band directors who have remained. 

Though the roster and genres/styles have changed, the mission has always been the same: to bring back good quality music to Hampton Roads and beyond, and to do it the right way. The way it was meant to be done, with an incredibly gifted rhythm section, real horns, and exceptional vocals! We like to call it, "Grown Folks Music."

About Ynot Wednesday
Ynot Wednesday, presented by Southern Auto Group, returns for its eighteenth season! This outdoor summer concert series takes place on the Sandler Center Outdoor Plaza every Wednesday from 5pm - 9pm. 

Over twelve weeks, visitors will enjoy a musical panorama of live local bands showcasing a diversity of genres from pop, country, big brass, Motown, rock, and more. Alongside free music, guests can purchase food, water, and soft drinks from title sponsor Ynot Italian, offering delicious pizza, sandwiches, and gelato all season long. Beer, wine, and craft cocktails will also be available for purchase.

Guests can plan to interact with our many sponsors and vendors, including Sinclair Communications, Southern Auto Group, Cycle World Powersports, Cannability Consulting, and more!

Feeling the summer heat? Venture inside the Sandler Center to cool off, visit the restrooms, or take a gallery stroll through the public art displayed on the second and third-floor lobbies. The Kids Craft Corner in the Miller Studio will also be open for families to enjoy make-and-take art projects and activities*.
