Join Our Facebook Group - "Virtual Stage Coastal Virginia"

Apr 13  / 2020

During this period of social distancing, while many of us are not going anywhere, rest assured the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts and the Sandler Center Foundation are not going anywhere either. We are here for you! While we miss our performers, resident companies, sponsors, donors, guests, and volunteers dearly, we want to continue to be a resource for the community even though the bright lights of the Sandler Center stage may be off. We look forward to reopening our doors to you soon. Until then, we invite you to join our Facebook Group "Virtual Stage Coastal Virginia".

The Virtual Stage Coastal Virginia Facebook group was developed to continue to bring our performing arts community together. We are opening our virtual doors, raising our virtual curtain and providing resources for audiences of all ages to enjoy. The group will feature content from the Sandler Center and Sandler Center Foundation. This content includes:

  • #MusicMondays highlighting local groups to national acts,
  • #YnotWednesdays highlighting local bands who have performed at Ynot Wednesdays in the summer,
  • #FamilyFridays highlighting past performances from our Educational Programs for all Pre-K-12 students and their families,
  • and much more!

Additionally, we encourage the members to also share posts, comments, videos, pictures, and resources of performing arts for us all to enjoy! More information on Sandler Center Virtual resources can be found at https://www.sandlercenter.org/virtual. Social distancing keeps us apart, but the performing arts still brings us together. So join the Virtual Stage Coastal Virginia group, invite your friends, share your own posts, and join us for live performances. It’s showtime!

ABOUT THE SANDLER CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS: The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts opened on Nov. 3, 2007, and is managed by Spectra Venue Management. With 1,308 seats and a soaring glass façade, the building is located in the heart of Virginia Beach’s Town Center, a hub for cultural entertainment. With local and international talent visiting the Sandler Center, performances are perfect for audiences of all ages. Patrons will experience an intimate environment when visiting the Sandler Center, as no seat is further than 100 ft. from the stage. The Sandler Center is also home to various art installations. ABOUT THE SANDLER CENTER FOUNDATION: The Sandler Center Foundation serves through three pillars: education, community outreach programs and performance underwriting. Each of these pillars is an important part of the Sandler Center Foundation’s mission to educate, inspire, enrich and build our community, strengthen local arts organizations, and instill an appreciation of the arts in future generations through the underwriting of world-class performances at the Sandler Center. These pillars could not be achieved without the help of our volunteers, members, donors and partners. The Sandler Center Foundation works to provide funding or grants for each of our pillars.
